The Pure Matters Scientific Advisory Board is comprised of leading professionals in the fields of Science, Medicine, Health, Wellness and Nutrition.

Our Advisory Board supports the vision and voice of Pure Matters by providing additional insight on the development, implementation and assessment of both products and informational content for our customers, clients, company and community. The Advisory Board members lend their expertise and knowledge directly into the research and development process.

Meet the Pure Matters Scientific Advisory Board

Amy Fitzpatrick MS, RD is a registered dietitian with more than a decade of experience as a nutrition expert, media consultant, published author, and speaker. She’s passionate about helping people understand the link between nutrition and disease prevention.

After getting her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition science, Fitzpatrick gained experience researching and writing nutrition and dietary information and developing and marketing successful products for health conscious people. She served as adjunct faculty at Bastyr University, one of the nation’s leading natural health sciences institutes, and is currently a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine dietetic practice group. As a corporate dietitian and consultant, Fitzpatrick offers wellness coaching and individualized nutrition, supplement, and health advice.

Dr. Shyam Parikh is a licensed pharmacist with over a decade of experience recommending pharmaceutical and nutraceutical treatments for his patients. He’s passionate about educating patients on the range of therapy options available for various conditions and he loves finding solutions that help to improve the quality of people’s lives.

As an Associate Director of Medical Information Services at Ascend Therapeutics, Dr. Parikh works with some of the leading physicians in the nation. His role is to educate healthcare providers and patients on how to improve their quality of life so they may live healthier and longer lives. Dr. Parikh graduated cum laude with a PharmD from the University of Florida and previously worked as a pharmacy manager in a retail setting as well as in drug safety for the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Dr. Marc Meyers is an accomplished speaker and author with more than 20 years of experience and numerous accolades in developing and launching innovative products in the confectionary, baking, and dietary supplement industries. As Managing Principal R&D Consultant for Meyers Consulting, he advises top multinational food and nutrition companies on the advancement of wellness supplements and functional ingredients.

Dr. Meyers has a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in food science from Rutgers University. He is credited with having over 35 patents in new ingredients, new technology, and finished product applications.

At Rutgers University’s Department of Food Sciences, Dr. Meyers lectures on nutraceuticals, functional foods, and dietary supplements. He also teaches food and nutrition classes at Hunter College in New York City and Mercer County College in New Jersey, and he is an adjunct professor of food and nutrition at Montclair State University.

Dr. Alan Cutler is a published author and Principal of his own pharmaceutical development consulting company. Prior to launching his company, Dr. Cutler was Vice President of R&D and CSO at Three Rivers Pharmaceuticals where he was responsible for leading the development, approval and introduction of the company’s first biologic, Infergen®.

Previously, Dr. Cutler was Senior Director of Research and Development at Ascend Therapeutics, where he directed the chemistry and manufacturing activities related to FDA requirements for new products. Dr. Cutler spent many years in research and development at 3M, where he was twice a finalist for the prestigious Corporate Technical Circle of Excellence Award. He has authored a number of patents and influenced the research and development of many pharmaceutical products. He is on the advisory board of ARKAT-USA Inc., a not-for-profit foundation that provides free electronic access to scientific research in Organic Chemistry.

After receiving a doctoral degree in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia’s School of Chemical Sciences, Dr. Cutler conducted NCI-sponsored post-doctoral research in chemistry and pharmacology at the University of Minnesota and University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
